As for the corpse, you are right in presuming that eating it will corrupt you massively, so don't.  Try to get it to the Druid in Terinyo, he'll give you a potion of cure corruption if you 'g'ive it to him.  It's definitely worth doing, even if you have to use a few potions of holy water to stop it rotting away on the way there (dip the corpse in with '!' once it goes rotten).  The same applies to the other Orb Guardians too.

That's a lesson learnt for future characters. :D

I just brought him to the nearest altar and sacrificed him. But I'll bring the other guardians to the Druid (if I manage to kill them, that is).

I am currently walking around in Darkforge - I'm now tough enough to deal with the Steel Golems.

I keep dying too early, I got killed by a chaos brother in puppy cave. That is bad luck.

Wow!

I got maximum lucky at Darkforge!!!! :P

I drank from a pool in the pool room and lost my permanent invisibility - so I went and finished all of Thrundarr's remaining quests; the Arena, and the Greater Demon. :D

Then I went back to Darkforge and got back the permanent invisibility, and the ability to see invisible things!!! :)

Then I lost 1 point of appearance after killing one swarm of snakes and elementals after the other - and decided that maybe I shouldn't push my luck any further, and went to pick up the gold and items.

Headed back to Dwarftown, sold everything - and finally managed to get crowned! I got acid immunity and the armor Nature's Companion (which has a nifty fire immunity and +15 speed) :D

Very interesting... I was sacrificing like mad to get crowning and there I was waiting and wondering when the hell do I get over "Ayssia seems to be very close to you." All of the sudden, after sacrificing large orc - which I assume isn't significantly better sacrifice than ogres and trolls I had been sacrificing before it - I was absolutely close... :D Where's the extremely close?

You were probaby at N= the entire time. You only get extremely close when you're not at the extreme alignment (like N- or L, or CN).

Ahem... Yep, that's it... My bad. Anyways, I don't know what's in it with me and elven (dark, grey or high, no matter) priests and priestesses, they simply rock! My now level 13 priestess went first through UD (and only barely survived from that giant lord that of course had to appear now for the first time!!!), then got the old barbarians quest, came back to complete both puppy and carpenter quests and now I'm heading to kill that crime lord. All I'm afraid of, is that I raise too high level before reaching pyramid, so I've decided to go straight to there after this quest.

You'll be safe if you don't pass level 15 before you do the pyramid (maybe even 16, though I'm not positive).

Yeah I cleared that already. I reached level 15 in there, so I wasn't even close, but if I had continued roaming elsewhere, it just might had forgotten. Now I'm desperately searching wight, not too common monster I believe...

Then again, if you're looking for a wight to satisfy the dwarf, I wouldn't recommend going below dwarftown, as you won't get the "investigate what lies beyond the animated forest" quest. Just hang out in the big room for a while until one pops up, or head over to the ToHK since you have a guaranteed climbing set from the pyramid and level there for a while.

I cleared the Darkforge, before I remembered to check out any hints here. :) I'm at level 17 (HE Priestess) and I'm cursing that stupid autocursing crown of science... Why does it had to curse and doom me? Not that it's a big deal to get rid of, but it just has so wonderful stats [+4, +8] {Le+9}... And I don't have any helmet atm because those stupid steel golems burned half of my precious equipment worn... :D

Question remains, shall I sacrifice or sell that crown? 2227gp isn't actually very much...

Very quick edit (not immediate though): What? I'm not cursed or doomed? Blesesd scroll of great identify claims it both curses and dooms, but potion of insight reveals only the following:

Quote

You are fire resistant.
You are acid resistant (gained through an item).
You are lucky (enhanced through an item).
Fate smiles upon you (gained through an item).
You are able to control teleportation.
You are invisible.
You are stun resistant.
You are able  to see invisible things (gained through an item).
You are immune to ice attacks.
You are able to resist confusion attacks (gained through an item).

You naturally heal one hit point every 65 turns.
You naturally regenerate one mana point every 23 turns.
I also have DV/PV: 47/13 (I know PV is low, but it's only thanks to the steel golems), I'm wearing blessed Shirt of the Saints, uncursed medium mithril shield (+2) [+5, +2], uncursed gauntlets (-1, +0) [+0, +4] and uncursed seven league boots [+1, +0]. I'm also wearing ankh and wielding mithril long sword of devastation (+0, 5d8+11). I haven't found anything more usable weapon, except two handed swords, but I prefer singlehanded weapons so I can use shields. Reason I listed these here is I want to know what you think of? Something very important missing? HP heal / PP regeneration speed is... what? Poor, ok, good? I've only once been this far (however I don't think I cleared Darkforge then) and I'm a little lost of how well I'm doing.

That's the effect of the Unholy Aura corruption.

Quote

A - You are surrounded by an unholy aura (Ch: -10, DV: +6).

This causes monsters to become afraid of the PC at more or less random times. In their frightened state, they will flee. A very nasty side effect is that shopkeepers become homicidally enraged at PCs that enter shops with this corruption, fearing that their customers will be frightened away. Note that invisible PCs do not suffer the effects of this corruption: monsters that cannot see invisible do not detect this corruption. This works for shopkeepers until the "*foo* stares at your position with great intensity" message is generated. After that, look out.

Heh, FUN! But it doesn't actually matter, I was only selling stuff there, and now I'm sacrificing the whole content of the shop to my loving deity! :) :P :D First I sold them and sacrificed gold, now I sacrifice the stuff! :D Me likes! One merchant less, who cares? Only that one stupid dwarf in the shop happened to steal as much as he could carry... *goes planning murders*

How. Stupid. One. Can. Be?

Never ever step on to ice without checking how much you are carrying... I seriously could cry... Easily my best character and now she's dead... :D
