Anyway, this is getting a bit spammy. After all this talk about necromancers I've been thinking that maybe I should have another bash at playing one. Or maybe a mindcrafter. I've never been any good at playing those either...

Well, this sucks. I'm cursed. I'm doomed. I have random teleportitus. I've gone through more items of armour than a small-town TV anchorman through insecure brunettes, and the red worms have taken over the Big room.
I only escaped last time by casting Darkness everytime I got surrounded. They can't see in the dark so they keep hitting each other, letting me hack my way out in the confusion.
I'm pretty sure I could deal with them if it wasn't for the teleportitus. If I could just stand on the stairs on "Coward" let them surround me and then run back down (letting some follow me) I could knock them out a few at a time. But as it stands every few turns I'm being zapped somewhere inconvenient.
I'm tempted to build up an army of Shadows, but I can only bring 8 up the stairs at a time, and the teleportitius kinda knocks out that idea.

Pooldrinking?
Anyway: to get teleport control, go back to the ID, go to level 7 and keep going back and forth between level 6 and 7 until you come across a blink dog. Wait for it to summon other blink dogs and keep killing them until you get a corpse to eat. If you kill the summoner by mistake, you'll have to repeat this, of course, but it shouldn't take you much longer than 20-30 minutes (real time).

Whoo-hoo!
Just got my first ever crowned character, and got the following gifts:
In addition, I've also gotten literacy (ate a Dark Sage) - because Thundarr decided to be mean to me... "Slay me a Slow Shadow." I still haven't gone past the Living Forest (because I am hoping to complete Thundarr's quest before then. Anywhere I can find Slow Shadows?
I've also gotten the Courage skill
Edit:
This is my character right now:
(I've removed the inventory and kills listing, as Beef has requested)
Now if only I could get some better armor than the clothes...

Nice, but you need to train up willpower and dexterity. DV/PV is appallingly low, though; you really need better armour than that.
Don't wear your cloak of invisibility unless you actually need it to get past something. It'll make you need even more food than you already do.
Weapon skills are good, but if I were you, I'd concentrate on just two or three weapon classes, otherwise you'll never reach mastery in any of them. And you've been training missiles as well. Good.
The best place to find a slow shadow is probably either the big room or the ID. All sorts of monsters can be generated at the top level of the pyramid, too, so that might be worth checking as well.

Awww...I died.
Paralysed by a dark Elf Priestess on level 10 of the ID while trying to find a cure for my teleportitus.
Incidentally, I killed over 300 red worms trying to deal with the big room infestation, but I couldn't seem to keepany decent armour for very long without getting it getting damaged. I had a suit of Mithril plate battered down to about the level of leather, and that was my fourth suit.
Oh well, learned a lot. My new boy is up to level 11 and has finished the Carpenter, puppy and Hotzenplotz quests. Current plan is to make a few slaves before taking the trek to the Coc.

You don't need to go that deep into the ID to find blink dogs, by the way. Level 6 or 7 will do.
Anyway, good luck with your next character
