Man: I was being held captive. I was being treated pretty good..... until I attempted to escape. I have been here for.. months. Who are you?

[Frodo]

Tell the man you are also here against your will, then ask for his help in defeating Sumonsar.

Man: ....... You do know, that Sumonsar.... can NOT be defeated. He is here, to take back the planet. My name is Desmond by the way. I was a researcher.

[Frodo]

Was it Sumonsar that held you captive?  Tell me what you know about it.  There MUST be a way to defeat it.

[Nick]

*The frightened Desmond looks at you, in a worried way.*

Desmond: I will tell you everything I know... *clears throat* I was working with the British government on a special, classified case. You see, my job was a pretty simple one... research security risks that could harm the British government, and it's people. But I had discovered something quite odd... A possible "end of earth" scenario. My findings came from ancient books, and other sources. No one believed me..... until the city of Liberta was destroyed many months ago. I assume you know about it.... *tries to look away* Anyway, the government decided to finally consider Sumonsar a national threat. In fact, many nations including the US, Britain, and Japan have all worked on the project.... the Blackstone Project. Our goal is to research the Ad Finem Ultimum Exodus, and to prevent the destruction of earth. We remain secret from other civilians. Some high-rank researchers have worked on the classified project, including John Baccaliera.... I was taken here after having a too-close encounter with Sumonsar. The British government has labeled me as "Dead"... they will not tell anyone what truly happened to me. As for the destruction of Sumonsar, I fear this is our fate... no one believed me..... *his face turns pale* God sent Sumonsar to finally take back earth.. and start a new colony of humans. We are so tainted... with greed, and lust... We can not stop this. We can only save the people we love, and figure out our own paths.

Tell Desmond of the ritual you were involved in before arriving in this room, and tell him it's worth trying again...

Franco: This will begin the Rite of Vaent. Everyone hold hands, and gather in a circle around the table.

*The storm clouds open above... as a cool rain drips down.*

Franco: Let us pray... We are gathered here today...

*As Franco reads from the book, the song "The Writing On My Father's Hand" starts playing in your head.*

Franco: We are all forming a bond, of love and trust. We need to cleanse this earth of a demon *as soon as the word is spoken, the wind picks up*... This demon has taken someone from us...

*In an instant, John appears in front of you. He looks grim, and sad. He walks over to you... just staring.*

Desmond: Ah yes... *his eyes widen* the Rite of Vaent... I know it well. My research on it, proved that it can work for small demon cases. But in the case of Sumonsar, it might not work.. I do have a plan though.... we need to escape from The Depths. We need to find a way out, and try to warn people of the destruction ahead.

[Frodo]

Climb out the window.

[Nick]

There are no windows.

Desmond: This place is pretty well guarded... In order to reach the cavern outside, I have a feeling we could climb up into the air-vents, and crawl out.

[Frodo]

Use your powers to create a window.  

[Nick]

*Instead of a window appearing, you notice that the light above you cracks into pieces*

[Frodo]

(you're determined not to let me use my powers properly, aren't you.   )

Climb up to air vent.

[Nick]

( Remember, your powers are faulty.)

*You climb up into the dusty air vent. Desmond follows you.*

Where will you go?
Left: You hear a loud buzzing noise coming from this direction.
Right: A red light is shining.
Forward: You hear the small sounds of someone talking.

[Frodo]

(and who's fault is that, that my powers are faulty?   )  

Head right, towards the red light.

(You injured yourself many chapters ago. )
