Sounds interesting, I wonder if this piece of crap computer could run The Movies.. it's a sexy looking game
It looks nice but it gets dull after a while, the entire process of creating the movie itself is cumbersome, not to mention gathering the actors and keeping them happy

I just thought of what Jesus said: "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" ...and so I did.

I don't think Jesus was referring to you when he said that, Stroggy. :)

I haven't read the bible (well, I've read some of it), but I'm pretty sure it doesn't say anything about pirating movies. But the kind of pirate movie I was thinking about, was more along the lines of a movie with pirates in it. :ot:

You know, "Yarrr!!!" and all that.

I got the impression that The Movies would get a bit repetitive after a while - like The Sims, only fun for ten minutes. Besides, I've got Civ 4 to take up all my time at the minute...

Whee! I've been sigged. :)

I had completely forgotten about Civ4. I still haven't gotten around to buy it, but I trust that when I do, you'll be up for a game or two Beef?

And sorry to go off topic like that. We should probably try to get back to The Movies (or maybe just me :ot:).

Civ 4 became a bit repetitive as well. But then again, I get tired of games without a plot easily. Now, back to The Movies... I must admit that some of the player-created movies I've seen are actually quite good.

Hey!

I haven't made them yet, it actually takes a pretty large amount of time to make anything half-decent, plus I need to think up some kind of plot for a movie including a lot of people.

Using Starmaker, I've made Kosta, Tom, Taikara, A.J, BeefontheBone, DeathDude, Havell, DakaSha and have a fair few more people planned.

Right, we've already got "Deathdude : You've Pushed Your Puck, Hoser", so can everyone sort of bring together an idea that includes pretty much anyone?

Although a movie of the IF game I had planned could be ace.

True, it is as I said, it takes quite a lot of work to make a decent movie, not to mention editing scenes to make it look more interesting and synchronizing the music as much as possible.

So do you need the game to see the movies, or is it encoded?

DakaSha:if you go into a kindergarden and give all the kids rubber schlongs they will prob just hit each other over the head with them
DakaSha:and you have a class of little kids hitting eachother with rubber dongs which must be quite funny (also Picklweasel knight I am)

Sorry if this is a bit of a stupid question, Prejudice, but won't you also need a plot of sorts? Or were you planning to make a kind of documentary thingy?

Nah, you can look at it online, a bit like all those Sims 2 movies.

Plot? Jeesh what era are you from? Haven't you seen any movies lately, all a movie needs these days is a cliché and/or controversial message and it's an instant succes.
