Have you ever listened to a song, and you completely mishear what is being sung?  If so, then tell it here.  It can be quite funny sometimes.  :P

When I was a kid, my dad kept singing 'Summertime' all the time.  I swear he kept saying 'Fish are jumping and the CURTAIN is high', instead of 'Fish are jumping and the COTTON is high.  Hehe

Phantom Of The Opera is one of my favourite songs.  On the version that Sarah Brightman sings, I always hear 'I pat a stick of his' instead of 'I can't escape from him'.  Now which line makes more sense I wonder?   :ok:

Anyway, what are some of the lyrics you misheard?

I'll post one, just because it was playing in the cafeteria yesterday when I went down there for lunch:

Don Henley's classic "Boys of Summer" contains the lines, "I can see you, your brown skin shining in the sun."  As a young and impressionable youth, I always heard this as "I can see you, your breasts can shine in the sun."  This, of course, added a substantial layer of awesomeness to the song.
Today is a good day for pie.

...which was presumably wiped clean away by that godawful Eurodance cover of it from a couple of years ago.

From the sound of it, I'm glad I totally missed that one!

I forget the "artist" - but you did well to avoid it!

I read about a good one somewhere on the net: "there's a bathroom on your right" instead of "there's a bad moon on the rise". Apparantly the guy sang it at a party, when someone asked for directions to the bathroom, and realised it was the wrong lyrics when everybody laughed at him.
Furthermore, it is my opinion that Carthage must be destroyed.

When I first heard Iron Maiden's The Trooper and he sang "You'll take my life but I'll take yours too", I found it weird and hard to put into any meaningfull context that he would take that other person's stew...
I met a goldfish who remembered meeting me before, but I had forgotten about that.
