yeah it looks cool... sadly i cant get it to run because it needs the whole java VM thing and my version seems to be outdated... and java is too busy right now and wont let me download  :)

hey did you look at the version number:

0.29!

i havnt played it but i read the feature list and if they already have that much going i wonder what 1.00 will be like  ;)

**EDIT**

wait sun  systems or microsystems or sun whatever is too busy ;)

Don't take version numbers too seriously. They're just arbitrary numbers to show how much has been added/improved. A product can be equally finished at version 0.1 as 1.0. Commersial products often put 1.0 as their version number whenever they ship their product for the first time. It for marketing purposes...

oh... ok.

anyways ive also never played the tabletop game but i know its pretty darn complex. so if they get it close to that (which they seem to be doing) it should be cool.

hmm there is another giant robot game ive seen too... guess ill post that next

Yeah Battletech is suppose to be nice and complex. This remind me of the "old" Battletech simulator Mechwarrior + sequels. I used to love those, they realle made me feel like I was walking around in a 100 tonnes machine.

well i just kinda scratched the surface and have to say so far it looks nice... just like i imagine the board game to be.

its all done in phases and everything is rolled... like the first turn i had something like

*INSERT MECH HERE* rolls for *INSERT DEVICE HERE* failure.
needs 3 / rolled 4

and so the device kept on working i think.

anyways i got tired of it because i want to play some wesnoth but im sure ill be playing it again

If anybody is going to add Megamek, then we cannot forget the old, old MechWar. The thing was made as freeware like 13 years ago, but it's still fun and last I heard there is a team hell-bent on doing a remake...
