Oh yeah I forgot about Postal, that's also pretty dang violent, and oh yes Soldier of Fortune is just as violent, (It got major attention by Mr. Liberman in the states for being so violent, I think I remember hearing that the game even got pulled off shelves in some places around the world even got an A rating too but not in the states. want to blow off a guy's leg? Yup you can do that, want to blow off his head? Yup, arm, shoulder etc.. blow off any part of the body and the blood, and the bodies stay down, so you can like spend an hour hacking at a guy's body with a knife if you wanted to. But definitely manhunt is a rough game no doubt, no kid should be playing this game, and yet so many have.

I agree that society is heading towards a regression towards the material that we see being put out today, the amount of violence and sex both in the media and in just everywhere you look. Look at the music industry with rap being so popular, half the videos seem to glorify this hard core image of a rapper being tough, having many women around him (being objectified it can be said) and just living the good life, uh huh righhhht. :P

As for games being more and more adult, there's a reason, the amount of gamers over 18 continues to grow and it only makes sense that developers will make more adult games, now adult I don't mean just like sex or violence, it can also be reflected in other ways, still though where does one draw the line, I know rockstar keeps pushing the line and with their latest project Bully I think it is, which imo is horrible to promote bullying since it's such a big issue here in North America anyways, bad message they are sending, I have no problem with GTA but with this I do.

Well it's on parents who buy these games and allow their chilldren to play it, sine it can't be sold to children...

Uh actually they can be sold to children, they are not supposed to be, but it still happens. The problem is the ESRB doesn't exactly have an enforcement policy that tells places who sell their game, no you can't sell the game to someone younger than the rating on the box, I've seen games like GTA and Manhunt sold to like 12 year olds who had the money, if they have the money they'll sell it, mind you not everywhere is doing this and the ones that reject selling the game, that's good to see. Still though it's changing a lot of states (I admit I don't know what the government is doing here in Canada regarding the issues, it's just not one in their opinion that deserves attention *shrugs*) in the U.S are enacting laws that will punish people who sell mature rated in the games in the future to minors.

Well it's still parents fault(both violence and kids becoming anti social), it's easy to blame videogames for their mistakes...

see i dont think they are promoting anything... or sending any messages. i cant imagine a kid playing that and then bullying somebody because of it.

what it can do is let the nerd be the bully for once... why not?

Yup that's for sure it's easy for parents to say, well geez it's the video games fault, and really every time I hear that I just roll my eyes and think geez maybe if you actually paid attention to what your kid is playing then it wouldn't come as such a shock to you. It's always been something to blame, first it was comics, then movies, then rock and roll now it's video games.

@Daka really you don't see that, basically what the game is rewarding you for doing bullying actions, the reason i have a problem with it, is because of the numerous incidents we have been hearing about hear about bullying, the ones even where kids have committed suicide because of a bully or other issues, it's good to see now though that bullies are getting punished for their actions with a zero policy being treated. Now I'm not saying the game will send that type of message to bully to everyone but to some kids it will and that's the worry imo.

I've tried it. Manhunt makes Postal look like an episode of Teletubbies.

Postal is just stupid.

I miss the days when little girls wanted to grow up to be princesses instead of porn stars, and little boys wanted to grow up to be knights instead of pimps.

There are just much better things in this world than sex and violence.

Yes, there trully are. Everything the boys in my class talk about is how big that girl's *** is (yes, I'm not lying), about how sexy she is etc. They also like violence very much and started to act like in games and hit each other that way. :P

Hm... Which is worse (between violence and sex)? Children actually reading this. (do not look in my profile, please :P )

EDIT: Is Kosta actually allowing this kind of things on the forum ? :P

Yup how times have changed, just not the same sort of thing, society just keeps pushing the boundaries on violence and sex, and really now a days people just look at it and say well whatever basically sticking with the status quo. The boundaries are going to keep getting pushed unfortuantely and the question is will it ever stop.
