Ack, sorry! Im thinking adding, not multiplying.

(ax+3)(x+a)

ax^2+a^2x+3x+3a
More or less as Havell said.

i think math is really neat but the most complex thing i ever learned was the basics of algebra... you know the x's, y's, ()'s and doing the multiplication and division before the other two :)

i was good in math (for my age and knowledge back then) but i was terrible at doing the stuff in my head and always needed a calculator.

oh well. mabye some day ill be abducted by aliens and theyll implant some math thingie in my head

Ok, todays math question!: What number does the following sum converge to?

1 + 1 + 1/2! + 1/3! + 1/4! + ...

n! = n*(n-1)*(n-2)...*3*2*1

*edit*
I don't care if you don't care  :)

n is an integer. 1/n! not (1/n)!

Although factorials (!) are defined on non-integers - technically, the definition above only applies to natural numbers, since it'd be infinite for any negative number.

Another question:

The independent events A, B and C have 0.1, 0.4 and 0.7 probability to occur.

a ) What's the probability that at least one of the events will occur?
b ) What's the probability that exacly two events occur?

Incorrect (how'd you come to that conclusion?)

Hint: A probability is a number in the interval [0, 1]
