Hi, I just recently joined AR (yeah, I've noticed) after hanging around at AB for a handful of months. There. I never got around to introduce myself, but as it is a nice thing to do...
I'm (as of this date) a 35 years old guy from Norway. My main interest was always music, both listening to and creating/playing, but after 27 years of playing (not al of them in a band, mind you ), I finally had it with everything that has to do with being in a band. So, I returned to my secondary interest, namely computer games (the ones I like, that is).
I'm what you could call a "part time worker", going from one job to another. Sacrificing education for music (beside, I genuinly hated school) has it's draw-backs. I spent quite a few years on a bar stool, but even if I hate doing that now, I still enjoy playing pool "down the pub".
I have had computers around for ages, got my C64 when I was 13 or so, upgrading to an Amiga 500 later, and "recently" a series of cheap/free PCs. I'm a bit of a science buf, although I don't have the brains to become a scientist myself , and so many times I said to myself "damn, why isn't there a program for this?".
So, here's a reason why I joined AR: To see what others are working on, perhaps getting a few ideas on programming (I'm preparing for the beginning here), and hopefully some help as well

I met a goldfish who remembered meeting me before, but I had forgotten about that.

Welcome.
*tries to dig up some of her rusty Norwegian*
[sings]Jeg er politimester Bastian og er en venlig man,
for det syns jeg man skal være hvis man kan.
Og jeg går omkring og passer på at alle har det bra
For det synes jeg at alle skulle ha...[/sings]
