This song so understands a man's love that it's difficult to believe that it was a woman who wrote it. Yes this is not metal sorry. :P

The Queen And The Soldier
Artist: Suzanne Vega
Album: Suzanne Vega

The soldier came knocking upon the queen's door
He said, "I am not fighting for you any more"
The queen knew she'd seen his face someplace before
And slowly she let him inside.

He said, "I've watched your palace up here on the hill
And I've wondered who's the woman for whom we all kill
But I am leaving tomorrow and you can do what you will
Only first I am asking you why."

Down in the long narrow hall he was led
Into her rooms with her tapestries red
And she never once took the crown from her head
She asked him there to sit down.

He said, "I see you now, and you are so very young
But I've seen more battles lost than I have battles won
And I've got this intuition, says it's all for your fun
And now will you tell me why?"

The young queen, she fixed him with an arrogant eye
She said, "You won't understand, and you may as well not try"
But her face was a child's, and he thought she would cry
But she closed herself up like a fan.

And she said, "I've swallowed a secret burning thread
It cuts me inside, and often I've bled"
He laid his hand then on top of her head
And he bowed her down to the ground.

"Tell me how hungry are you? How weak you must feel
As you are living here alone, and you are never revealed
But I won't march again on your battlefield"
And he took her to the window to see.

And the sun, it was gold, though the sky, it was gray
And she wanted more than she ever could say
But she knew how it frightened her, and she turned away
And would not look at his face again.

And he said, "I want to live as an honest man
To get all I deserve and to give all I can
And to love a young woman who I don't understand
Your highness, your ways are very strange."

But the crown, it had fallen, and she thought she would break
And she stood there, ashamed of the way her heart ached
She took him to the doorstep and she asked him to wait
She would only be a moment inside.

Out in the distance her order was heard
And the soldier was killed, still waiting for her word
And while the queen went on strangeling in the solitude she preferred
The battle continued on
..oO Mustached Crusader of the PEEKOCKSWOOZZLE Order Oo..
"STFU and show me your screenies!!"

I'm sorry, but I dare not translate these lyrics. They are simply too great to be destroyed by lousy translation. Perhaps you can find a decent translation somewhere, but I will not do it :P

This song was written by the Swede Carl Michael Bellman who lived between 1740 and 1795, and tells about the funeral of one lady who was a regular at this tavern/public house. It also tells of a woman that will be greatly missed by her drinking companions.

"Epistel No. 81" (as sung by Cornelis Vreeswijk)
(if the text is garbled, try changing the character code/ISO number)

Märk hur vår skugga, märk, Movitz mon frere,
inom ett mörker sig slutar,
hur guld och purpur i skoveln, där,
byts till guld och klutar.
Vinkar Charon från sin brusande älv,
och tre gånger sen dödgrävaren själv,
mer du din druvan din ryster.
Därför, Movitz, kom hjälp mig och välv
gravvård över vår syster!

Lillklockan klämtar till storklockans dön,
lövad står kantorn i porten
och till de skrålande gossarnas bön
helgas denna orten.
Vägen opp till templets griftprydda stad
kantas mellan rosors gulnade blad,
multnande plankor och bårar;

Torstig var hon och urtorstig är jag;
vi är torstiga alla.
I met a goldfish who remembered meeting me before, but I had forgotten about that.

Time to showcase a Nevermore tune, they always have some deep and well thought out lyrics, heres one off their last album, This Godless Endevour.

2. Final Product

[Loomis, Dane]

The media loves the latest tragic suicide
They exploit it, then package it and profit from the people who die
Look at the world, look at the hell, look at the hate that we've made
Look at the final product, a world in slow decay
I'm told that all your seeds are black
I've learned the question in unanswered and opaque

We're witnessing a famine of the innocent
Did they die for religion or the government?
Because if your god won't do, their god will starve you
Look at the world, look at the hell, look at the hate that we've made
Look at the final product, a world in slow decay
I'm told that all your seeds are black
I've learned the question is unanswered and opaque

There are those that believe the world is ending again
That impending armageddon is inevitable and waiting

I've told that all your seas are black
I've learned the question is unanswered and opaque

We live in a time of revolution
We swim the silent seas of sanity gone

Time for a whole different direction into the silly land of Toy Dolls, and two from their Absurd Ditties album

Ernie Had A Hernia

Too much nosh & too much booze
He spent all night in the bog with the blues
An aching head, intoxicated
He didn't even know he was constipated

He forced & he frowned, he pushed & he stained
But on the toilet seat he remained
He let out a shout as he passed out
& his gut was rearranged

No walks in the park, no drinks, no grub
He can't embark on a trip to the pub
He sits in the dark, and says don't trouble me

[Counterpoint Chorus:]
No one sees he's a ruptured man
He can't sneeze like you normally can
They're all mean, they're all riff raff
He turns green when they make him laugh
Ernie had a. Ernie had a...
Hernia, a hernie
Ernie had a. Ernie had a...
Hernia, a hernie...
He had a hernia

He can't stand up, her can't lie flat
The torment in his tummy preventing that
He can't sit down, can't go anywhere
The devil in his belly proving too much to bear

He can't go out & he can't stay in
Oh what's it all about? He just can't win
No chance of a bath or to see the lavatory for him

Ernie had a...<i>[guitar bit]

Ernie never smiles & he dare not grin
An aggravating abdomen wearing him thin
Ernie had a hernia but he did not give in

Ernia had a...

He had a hernia

Dez The Demon Decorator

Brighten up you home, it said in the advert
All your decorating done by an expert
How the hell was I to know he's such a dirty sod
I wanted subtle shades, maybe something duller
There's paint on the chairs & the dogs a different colour
I'm the only bloke I know that does have a day-glo scullery...

[Chorus:]
Dez the demon...never coming back, he's never coming back ooeee
Dez the demon...never get a cheque, he'll never get a cheque from me
Dez the demon decorator

He split a tin o'gloss coz he's a clumsy swine
"I'll paint the carpet pink, I've got no turpentine"
Pink footprints everywhere reminding me
The neighbours came for tea & they began to frown
The wallpaper was *rooster*-eyed, flowers upside down
What the flippen 'ecks that decorating clown done now...
[Chorus.... Guitar Bit]

Dez the demons deed is done, my house is an eye-sore
Bumps & Lumps in the wallpaper, paint splashed on the floor
I won't be calling Dez the demon, won't be calling Dez the demon
I won't be calling Dez the demon decorator anymore...
[Chorus]
I met a goldfish who remembered meeting me before, but I had forgotten about that.

Kotiteollisuus - Kuolemanjrvi:
Translated poorly by Juni. Kotiteollisuus can freely use my translation or parts of it if they ever want so.

Kannan vett lhteeseen / I carry water to fountain
kannan valoa skiss / I carry light in a bag
vsyneet silmt kuopissaan / tired eyes in their sockets
kuin rotat hkissn / like rats in cages
kirkoista kapakoista / from church from bar
itseni etsin ja noista / I search myself and
maailman kapaloista / from arms of world*
tahdon viimein irti / I want to leave*

Kuolemajrvi / Lake of death
olet niin kaunis tahdon sinuun sukeltaa / you're so beautiful I want to dive in you
jd syliisi / stay in you*
siihen nukahtaa ja kaiken unohtaa / fall asleep and forget everything
krsin ja odotin / suffering waiting*
etsin elmn jotain kaunista / searching for some grace*
krsin ja unohdin / suffering waiting*
kunnes lakkasin toivomasta / 'til I ceased hoping

Tm tunne vanhempi kuin maailman vuoret / This feeling older than the mountains
vanhempi kuin taivas tai valtameret suuret / older than the sky or oceans so big*

Sairasta pilaa / Morbid jest
koko elm / who life
yksinisyys / loneliness
halauksena ymprilln / as a hug around me

Olet niin kaunis tahdon sinuun sukeltaa / you're so beautiful I want to dive in you
jd syliisi / stay in you*
siihen nukahtaa ja kaiken unohtaa / fall asleep and forget everything

Kuolemajrvi / Lake of death

The Electric Version - The New Pornographers

The sound of God is the screech of tires, lights and magnets, bolts and wires, strayed from the road, this very one
Still to come, the sound of tires is the sound of God, the electric version
The power and blood will pulse through your song, just as long as it sounds lost, streaming out of the magnets
Strung together like Christmas lights, twelve whole seconds of history might lead you from where you went off the track welcome back
Our electric version calls, you alone create the full spectrum of light, so what could go wrong? Just as long as it sounds lost, streaming out of the magnets
The card you're dealt by the crowd goes wild, make believe you are an only child
Here are the clothes, please put them on
Still to come, a new parade of faith and sparks, the electric version harks back to the day when there was no wrong just as long as it sounds lost, streaming out of the magnets

All the Wine - The National

I'm put together beautifully
Big wet bottle in my fist, big wet rose in my teeth
I'm a perfect piece of *money-maker*
Like every Californian
So tall I take over the street, with highbeams shining on my back
A wingspan unbelievable
I'm a festival, I'm a parade

I'm a birthday candle in a circle of black girls
God is on my side
Cuz I'm the child bride
I'm so sorry but the motorcade will have to go around me this time
Cuz God is on my side
And I'm the child bride

I carry the dollhouse, safe on my shoulders
Through the black city, night lights are on in the corners
And everyone's sleeping upstairs

I'm in a state, I'm in a state
Nothing can touch us my love

Rock Lobster

We were at a party
His ear lobe fell in the deep
Someone reached in and grabbed it
It was a rock lobster

We were at the beach
Everybody had matching towels
Somebody went under a dock
And there they saw a rock
It wasn't a rock
It was a rock lobster

Motion in the ocean
His air hose broke
Lots of trouble
Lots of bubble
He was in a jam
S'in a giant clam

Down, down

Underneath the waves
Mermaids wavin'
Wavin' to mermen
Wavin' sea fans
Sea horses sailin'
Dolphins wailin'

Red snappers snappin'
Clam shells clappin'
Muscles flexin'
Flippers flippin'

Down, down

Let's rock!

Boy's in bikinis
Girls in surfboards
Everybody's rockin'
Everybody's fruggin'

Twistin' 'round the fire
Havin' fun
Bakin' potatoes
Bakin' in the sun

Put on your noseguard
Put on the lifeguard
Pass the tanning butter

Here comes a stingray
There goes a manta-ray
In walked a jelly fish
There goes a dogfish
Chased by a catfish
In flew a sea robin
Watch out for that piranha
There goes a narwhale
HERE COMES A BIKINI WHALE!

Falkenbach - Donar's Oak

Branches as high as vigilant eye could see,
Magic runes, once scratched into this tree.
An old man sat down at this mighty oak,
Every morning, day by day...
And he closed his eyes
While a gasp blew through its leaves...
And he began to speak...

Land er heilagt

som ok lfom nr;

skal rr vera,
unz um rifaz regin.

Roots as deep as the very depths of heart,
Source for those who know what's still to come...
Man of wisdom and knowledge great,
With hair as white as snow...
The young amongst them in a circle sat
And listened to his voice.
...While he began to speak...

Land er heilagt

som ok lfom nr;

Nightwish - While Your Lips Are Still Red
By Tuomas Holopainen and Marco Hietala

Sweet little words made for silence
Not talk
Young heart for love
Not heartache
Dark hair for catching the wind
Not to veil the sight of a cold world

Kiss, while your lips are still red
While he's still silent
Rest, while bosom is still untouched, unveiled
Hold another hand
While the hand's still without a tool
Drown into eyes, while they're still blind
Love, while the night still hides
The withering dawn

First day of love never comes back
A passionate hour's never a wasted one
The violin, the poet's hand,
Every thawing heart plays your theme with care

Kiss, while your lips are still red
While he's still silent
Rest, while bosom is still untouched, unveiled
Hold another hand
While the hand's still without a tool
Drown into eyes, while they're still blind
Love, while the night still hides
The withering dawn

Kiss, while your lips are still red...

Nightwish - Master Passion Greed

Who the hell are you to tell me
What to do, why to do, why bother
Leech in a mask of virtue
Such waste, to ever think of you again

Hey Judas, your Christess was our love
Hit and run, your will be done
Never sorry, never wrong

Master passion greed

"Hello. How are you?
Let me explain one thing.
All for her and more for me
Why is it so hard to see?
I see no sense in doing this
Not enough for me
I *meep* up everything but let me explain."

Some day you shall flee,
Panting and weak

Master passion greed

All within me gone but pain and hope
Hoping that the pain would fade away

Greed, your master passion
I Feed the mouth that bites me
Mammon, opiate of the masses
The reek of your lies draws flies

Seek her
Seduce her
Tame her
Blame her
Have her
Kill her
Feast on it all

With awakening the tears will begin
To my everlasting shame silence took me

...70 years... LOL

here is the name of one of my favorite songs:"crashed"

Well I was moving at the speed of sound.
Head-spinning, couldn't find my way around, and
Didn't know that I was going down.
Yeah, yeah.
Where I've been, well it's all a blur.
What I was looking for, I'm not sure.
Too late and didn't see it coming.
Yeah, yeah.

And then I crashed into you,
And I went up in flames.
Could've been the death of me,
But then you breathed your breath in me.
And I crashed into you,
Like a runaway train.
You will consume me,
But I can't walk away.

Somehow, I couldn't stop myself.
I just wanted to know how it felt.
Too strong, I couldn't hold on.
Yeah, yeah.
Now I'm just tryin' to make some sense
Out of how and why this happened.
Where we're heading, there's just no knowing.
Yeah, yeah.

And then I crashed into you,
And I went up in flames.
Could've been the death of me,
But then you breathed your breath in me.
And I crashed into you,
Like a runaway train.
You will consume me,
But I can't walk away.

From your face, your eyes
They're burned into me.
You saved me, you gave me
Just what I need.
Oh, just what I need.

And then I crashed into you,
And I went up in flames.
Could've been the death of me,
But then you breathed your breath in me.
And I crashed into you,
Like a runaway train.
You will consume me,
But I can't walk away.

And then I crashed into you,
And then I crashed into you,
And then I crashed into you,
And then I crashed into you,
Then I crashed into you,
Like a runaway train.
You will consume me,
But I can't walk away.
