For ADOM, the list is:

[ wearable items (caps, armour, gauntlets, cloaks, girdles, boots)
' necklaces and amulets
~ bracers
( weapons
} missile weapons
/ missiles
] tools
{ instruments
= rings
\ wands
! potions
? scrolls
" books
% food
$ gold
* gems

Edit: Rogue uses different symbols, but ADOM makes more sense, I think.

It's now been a while since I worked on this. I'm feeling terribly uncreative at the moment and the code needs to be redesigned for it to be maintainable as the project reaches completion. The main issues right now that I have to deal with before and new features should be added is:
  • Rewrite the graphic handling code. It's too uneffective as it is now.
  • Fix some bugs concerning equipping armour and weapons
  • Redesign the overall code and make some (more) abstractions. This is getting more and more clunky for each line of code I add.
  • Find inspiration and get creative. As it is now I'm not doing anything that hasn't been done before.

Thanks for the offer, but at the moment I'm alright. I might take you up on it later though ;-)
Do you have experience with Python and Pygame?

Ok, this is the situation. I've just landed (two weeks in) a job at SAAB Technologies, Research and Development (Yay me! :)). But since I spend a large portion of my time in my office hacking away on a computer, I'm not terribly excited about sitting down with one when I get home. I'm even less turned on by the idea of starting to code on my free time (what's happening to me !?  :D ). So I'm thinking, what should I do with this project. It's not even close to being released as a half finished game. Any comments on how to proceed with this? I guess I could just let in die and end up in the graveyard.

Why not back up all your work, and just keep it safe until you DO want to start working on it again?

Next year, you might have some new ideas, and want to start tinkering around with it again.

:D

:ok:

Good point and I have thought about it. It's already backed up so I guess time will tell if/when I take up the work :wall:
