I've recently been playing the Quest For Glory games again, and I've really been enjoying them.  I forgot how good they are.  I love how you can name your character whatever you want.  And you can play as 3 different 'classes' - Thief, Fighter, or Magic User.  Each 'class' has to use their own unique skills to get past the same problem.   :wall:

I was thinking about which game I like best, and it was a close call between Part 1 and Part 4.  Part 4 has vampires, Toby, and 'The Sacrifice of Life for Love', which was a lovely part of the game.  Part 1 has Baba Yaga, and those adorable Meeps.   :)    Plus, this was the first game I played where you could choose your 'class'.  So Part 1 gets my vote.   :ok:

So which game do YOU like best?  And why?  Do you have a favourite character?  Is there anything else you like about the game?

The fourth one is my clear favourite, although I never finished the fifth one. The first and second ones are great too, but the third one is a bit of a disappointment imo.

As for which class to play, Paladin is the choice. :ok:
Furthermore, it is my opinion that Carthage must be destroyed.

Paladin is almost like a hidden class.   :wall:

That was another thing I liked.  You could only play as Paladin if you had shown courage and honour and loyalty in a previous game.   :ok:

Never played them, I'm afraid, but I believe they're rather good games.

QFGV shouldn't even count, anyway :wall:

I voted 4 - it was the culmination of all your hard work, and had great story and atmosphere. Paladins for teh win!

What is the series all about, by the way, and what does it play like? I've tried to figure it out by reading the reviews on AB, but somehow I'm still a bit puzzled as to whether they should be classed as RPGs or adventures...:ok:

Definitely adventure. There really aren't many RPG elements in them, imo. Although you do get to pick a class at the beginning of each game, which impacts how you'll solve many of the puzzles. If you haven't played them, you definitely should, they're some of Sierras best. Up there with Laura Bow and Gabriel Knight. :wall:
Furthermore, it is my opinion that Carthage must be destroyed.

I was just wondering because the story sounded rather RPG-like.:ok:
Sounds like I should give it a try, then.:wall: I don't think I've got it, though, so I'll probably have to wait for when/if it goes up on AB.
