Somebody might want to edit the review. It seems that the thingie (whatever you call it) isn't working.

I'm gonna try out this game now, after watching people discussing it on the shoutbox all day. YAY! The shoutbox has justified it's existence (at least to me :)).
Furthermore, it is my opinion that Carthage must be destroyed.

How do you use the firemaking set (tinderbox and box with flint and steel) to make fire?

You only use them to light torches, actually. Put a torch in your tool slot an 'u'se it.

Hey All. I finally signed up here too..(WHY haden't I done so before? I unno)

Anywho, this game absolutely rocks. I play it at LEAST once a week. This, and Achaea. There's something about text based games thats just....I can't get off 'em. I never was too good at this game though hehe, i'd finish the first quest, and get killed my flash hounds...dogs...wolves..something. Damned things poof in a room and I dont motice 'em till they flood the halls.

Humm, I was browsing the game genres of AR when I noticed that there is no Text Based games there... And I searched everywhere until I found ADOM in the RPG section..?

Why place it there? This game was way better placed in the Text Based section IMHO... :)

I moved it, because text-based was intended for text-based adventures, rather than games with graphics which happen to be ASCII ones; they're still graphics. I've suggested the addition of a Roguelike category for them since there's a few on the site, some with more graphics than others.

I concur about the Roguelike section. RL's are too broad in graphics to be in one or the other. One would complain the ASCII roguelikes are text, and yet are RPG's, yet the graphical RL's are RPG's but not text. Too much argument for an easily solved thing. I admit RL is more of a sub-category than a category, but what else can yah do about it?

After playing ToME for a good 10h I've given ADoM a spin. I don't really like the answer question to decide what kind of character you play. I prefer the roll the die or spend character points. Other than that my first impression has been positive.

As when I started with ToME I can't seem to survive long in ADoM. Any n00b tips for me? :)

I like complex. I just want a guide I can follow to learn the basics and carry on myself from there :-)
