erm it isnt adom. they are both roguelikes but completly different.
adom is more of a "game" and all the angband variants are hack & slash.

you kill monsters, get items, kill more monsters, solve a quest, kill monsters. thats all there is too it but that doesnt mean you can just hack your way through. angbands most important thing are the items you get. you have to outfit your char in a way that makes him tough and should also always have some means of escape along.

you cant just tunnel through walls as you wish... first off you need to be strong as hell (and mabye have a digger) to do it in any reasonable time and it may seem so in the first dungeon but digging IS NOT going to save you from death
