Scorched 3D is a damn good (and faithful) remake of the original DOS game Scorched Earth in my opinion and is still being developed for. The site is http://www.scorched3d.co.uk . It is of course freeware. Modes of play include hotseat, LAN, bot, and online play. There are screenshots on the site too.

It's waiting for a review here so it hasn't gone unnoticed.

In fact, Kosta's volunteered to do it, so it should be en route.

I tried this one, it was really cool. But I didn't get the same feel as with the original. Still it's a better game than the original in my opinion, the concept just got old for me.
