I'm going to try it mp, but I rarely like too much of random clashes in mp, so I don't think this is going to get me raise my rating. But we will see. Anyone brave enough to challenge me? :D

Check out my thread in Multiplayer Challenges. I'd love to teach you a thing or two about drakes. :D

@Daka: Ah, I see. I guess I haven't seen you there, then.

One year has pas't.
Arise thread, arise!

Just downloaded this old chestnut and finished the first of the easy peasy campaigns.
Been a while since a game addicted me like this one, which is nice for the game, i suppose.
Disastrous for me.

The combat randomosity is pretty nice.
Lost about 5 guys attacking some pissant goblin in shallow water thanks to that, but meh, I also killed their boss with a gimpy, but lucky, bowman.

:P

I've downloaded this game at work, and I been impressed. It is version 1.4 though, which I think is way better than the version the review is based upon.

It even came translated in French!

I am downloading the game and will be trying it at home shortly.

Well, this was interesting. While the game is really a wargame with RPG elements added in instead of a strategy game, it is interesting enough to keep me interested in the game.

The difficulty, however, is way too high for such simple gameplay elements and it is stupidly easy to have to reload the game several times only so your main characters don't die from lucky shots or mobs of ennemies whom you didn't think could walk that far. It is unfortunate that in those rare case in which the gameplay is explored in more depth, like the day/night roll on the battlefield, it only add to the frustration of the game more than it's enjoyment.

I'd give the game a good 3.5 out of 5. Since you can't vote in increments of .5 points however, I've voted 3 on the site.

It's fine but I couldn't stand the huge randomness. In multiplay it makes things depend on luck more than skill, which may be intended, but in a one-player campaign it's just annoying.

There is a quick and simple way to simulate the experience of playing this game, that does not involve a 200meg download. It goes like this:

Flip a coin. If it's heads, eat a chocolate and congratulate yourself on your tactical genius. If it's tails, punch yourself hard in the nose. Repeat until you're sick of it.

That is what it is like to play a game in which every battle is determined solely by random chance.

Beautiful analogy.

 I totally have to agree. After initial interest the game gets very boring and actually stupid very soon. My rating? 2/5 - mostly because it is quite well coded and has very good graphics (even though I don't really like them).
