It's breaking news on Sky News, so I can't give you much info, sorry. Anyway, I recommend staying warm and inside and stuff. So that you don't die and things, obviously.

I doubt you were being serious there, but it's worth pointing out that it's not plague-like, it's not an epidemic and the last one was in 1918 (with a mutant flu strain). The avian flu as it exists is incapable of infecting humans except in cases of highly prolonged contact, normally in rather unsanitary conditions. The potential pandemic would result if the virus mutates or crosses with a human-carried pathogen like influenza. In any case there's not a lot you can do about it other than bemoaning the west's drug patenting laws. Unless you're a bird - then you can feel free to panic.

Also, it's not an epidemic, it's more likely to be a pandemic and they're much, much worse.
Anyway, yes it was in quarantine, but I'm still displeased.
Oh and also it's probably going to spread around the world and a conservative deathstimate is about 150million people.
Anyway, you Americans have a few weeks to keep yourselves warm etc. and indeed get your guns out and start picking off the 'avian menace' as I'm sure the Daily Mail will start calling it. I reckon that they'll also want the global culling of every bird, ever. But they're a right load of wankers, eh?

And the Daily Mail is a UK newspaper, so don't accuse me of USA-bashing either please.
Not that you would, I just imagine that some people will hold it against me for some reason or another.

I don't know what'll be worse, the death toll or the predictable headlines.
