This shall invoke some interesting responses. Decided to limit the number to 5, but yes your top 5 in your opinion, "perfect" songs (this can be your favourite songs of all time in a way too) so here's my hard to pick list.  :)

Dream Theater- A Change of Seasons
Pain of Salvation- A Trace of Blood
Symphony X- The Odyssey
Iron Maiden- Revelations*
Kamelot- Center Of The Universe

*(Pretty much impossible to pick a choice for these guys as they have way too many, but this has been and always will be one of my top favourites.)

So what's your top 5?

http://www.last.fm/user/DeathDude/Upcoming Concerts will be attending, 5/10/08: Dream Theater, 5/12/08: Gigantour, 5/16/08: Nightwish, 5/27/08: Rush, 6/5/08 and 6/6/08: Iron Maiden, 7/27/08: Judas Priest,

Top 5 "perfect" Songs? Are they even possible to list?

Okay, here's my "Top 5" (in alphabetical order):
J. Sibelius - Finlandia
Amorphis - First Doom
Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name
Deep Purple - Perfect Strangers
To/Die/For - Silence Tells More

Argh... There's at least five more songs from Amorphis I'd need to name, but...

Okay, removed Dio - Holy Diver and Nightwish - The Siren
...70 years... LOL

Why do you think I put the word "perfect" in quotations. :D Obivously there is no perfect song, some can come close and again it's all opinion based.

And Juni if I could narrow mine down to 5 especially Iron Maiden and ignoring a multitude of other bands I think you can too. :P

In no particular order, and slightly random, since only 5 is too hard

NoMeansNo - Joyful Reunion
Ramones - Cabbies On Crack
*rooster* SParrer - Where Are They Now?
Dropkick Murphys - Tessie
AC/DC - It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock'n'Roll)

EDIT: This filter is rather amusing at times

Good choices there, Prej.

I'll have to say:

Chris Isaak - Wicked Game
Circulus - The Scarecrow
Modest Mouse - Float On
Semisonic - Never You Mind
Thomas Dolby - The Key To Her Ferrari

(That after narrowing it down from a shortlist of about 12 songs...)

Wonderwall- Oasis

I was just waiting for that =D

Pretty good song IMO, although I dunno if its perfect, then again I don't think any song is really.

But, my top 5, not in any particular order as its impossible for me to decide on 5 songs alone, let alone in ranking.

A little Less Conversation remix - Elivs / JXL (remix)
Believe - Yellowcard (yeah, most of their music sounds the same after like, 3 listenings, but some of their stuff isn't bad, and Believe is one of the better ones IMO)
Stan - Eminem / Feat
Welcome to the black parade - My Chemical Romance
Back in Black - AC/DC

I woulda put more oldies on there, but to be honest I haven't listened to any in a while =\
