I'm a big fan of japanese freeware games, some of the things they come up with are just so much fun. So, yesterday, I found a link to a page describing a game.

http://edelwiss.saku...bloom/game.html

The first thing you see upon entering is a pretty little fairy looking at you, so I was wondering why it was in the action games section of the site, but then I noticed something odd with the picture.

"Is that a knife behind her back?" I said, incredulity seeping into my voice.

As I looked around the page, it became VERY obvious that it was indeed a knife, and that it belonged in the action game category of any website. Of particular interest is the fact that all in game sprites feature a main character drawn with the usual Japanese blank-eyed psycho look.

So I downloaded it.

After unzipping the game, I, having already peeked at the games online manual for the controls, jumped in? and spent a few hours playing it. The controls are simplistic (z to hit, x to jump, c for screen wide special attack) but you quickly find all the fun of surviving in endless mode and quickly figure out tricks to make mad chain reactions at later levels where a screen full of enemies is not an uncommon sight.

If you are unconvinced, here?s a direct link to a video of someone playing it that I found in the gaming section of the Vector website.

I recommend this game to anyone and am willing to work on a review for this game.

Well, I'm done with the review's initial draft, though it probably requires editing. Where do I send it?
