I am a British born writer, but I live in America.
some will know me for my stories about the god of sleep.

Far too easy. Even from the first bit I'dve had a decent shot I think. 's Neil Gaiman.

Feel free to take my turn (assuming I'm not, by some odd stretch, wrong, of course :(), anyone who wants it.

Incidentally, in the spirit of pickiness, Morpheus isn't strictly speaking a god, and his domain is dream rather than sleep :(

first of all, Morpheus is indeed the good of sleep. the Greek one.
and I was pretty sure that there's just one "personification of dream".

anyways. let's try something harder.

I'm an actress well known for her role as the Alliance's science experiment in space.
and less well known role as a sister to a sorority member, who was both magical and evil...

Ahem, a1s, some sources? All books I've read, all sites I could quickly find (of the god Morpheus) call him god of dreams, not sleep.

Back to game: Only one I could think of is Sigourney Weaver as Lieutenant Ripley in Alien The Resurrection, but it was The Corporation's experiment, not The Alliance's, if I remember correctly.

Ah, wait - I reckon that's Summer Glau. Not sure what the second bit is, but the first is her in Firefly (and Serenity, ofc).

oh yes.
apparently she starred in something called "The Initiation of Sarah" (the Internet is full of useless trivia!).

also, I'm an *arse*. I should have gone and checked. Hypnos is ofcourse the god of sleep, while his bro Morpheus is the one of dreams. :ok:

I'm beginning to be a real pain in the *money-maker* (sorry, couldn't resist), but wasn't he son of Hypnos and Pasithea (goddess of something similar to dreams and sleep - can't recall)? I guess I'll have to do some research as soon as possible.

According to that:

Quote

He is the son or brother of Hypnos, the god of sleep.

Here it says son, as well as here and here (don't ask, just googled). As well as my books (two sources) here at home.

Changing tack somewhat, this time I'm an American singer of humourous songs and Harvard scholar. Anyone who thinks I'm Weird Al will have a piano dropped on their heads :ok:

weird al was from Harvard? :ok:

anyways it's clearly Lehrer. I can still recite the lyrics to "Plagiarise" by heart. well, you know, except for the part about the non-euclidean manifold, but I can fake it with similar mathbable.

I don't think Weird Al went to Harvard - just seemed somebody might think I was thinking of him. Lehrer it is, of course. Getting a bit of a two-man game, this :ok:
