Better than having no save feature at all, least it's something the game gives back for the hard work you put into it.

I'm not saying it's not worth it, I'm just saying "Why couldn't we have known before hand?" I figured it out too, ever hear the phrase "Nobody reads the manual!"?(While not true and I do read most, I missed this one

Well certain features or unlockable secrets shouldn't just be handed on a silver plater to gamers, least by getting a high score you can learn about it, and considering the game is an arcade game moreso, it makes it useful, if you had to unlock a save feature for like an rpg or a game that was longer, than that would be an issue I would have.
