Today, I obtained the new Chevelle CD, This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In), and I have to say, I am incredibly impressed.

I haven't heard a song yet I don't like.

They somehow have managed to add a bit of metal technique to their rock style, and keep it intact, as well as layering more vocal harmony in, and are using much more interesting chord progressions.

A definite upgrade  :)

It's almost orchestral, but in no way is it overdone, I love it.

I hate it when I get a CD and only like one or two songs.

So, what CDs do you like?

Last CD that I liked had to have been Lenny Kravitz's Baptism, a lot of really good tracks on that one, and most really grew on me, as I listening to them, only a few songs of the 13 that I don't really like as much, but the rest are all awesome work, lots of instrumental in this one bass, guitars, piano, drums etc..., even has the saxaphone which is cool. Good overall rock album of his material. :)

http://www.last.fm/user/DeathDude/Upcoming Concerts will be attending, 5/10/08: Dream Theater, 5/12/08: Gigantour, 5/16/08: Nightwish, 5/27/08: Rush, 6/5/08 and 6/6/08: Iron Maiden, 7/27/08: Judas Priest,

Last CD I bought was "Operation mindcrime" from Queensryche, and some of the tunes were very catchy ("Don't ever trust the needle" and "Speak" are my favorite so far, "I don't believe in love" and "Spreading the disease are seconds).

Electric requiem was very bad tho, too bad to waste a good title like that.

I like a lot of CDs. I like these best.

Bagpipe Classics
Piano Classics
B.J. Thomas All-Time Greatest Hits
Rock On 1970
The Best of the Beach Boys
Masterpieces Classics Gold
Smash Hit's of the 60's
Pi stinks, tastes horribles, and I hate it! But cake is good...

Hmmm, I'll nominate the album Let's Get This Mother Outta Here by Ship of Fools. It's a metallic psychadelia side project of Dan from Anathema, and every track's a gem. Gotta love Wizard of Oz samples :)

If you don't know Anathema, they're top-quality Scouse mettalers, and their albums Alternative 4, a fine day to exit and a natural disaster would be my personal favourites.

Last CD I bought was Pink Floyd "The Wall". I knew that is a classic that everyone should listen to, so I couldn't be any exception. Of course I like all the songs, this album is absolutely flawless. I think I don't have to describe, almost everybody knows Pink Floyd style, even me before buying this album :)

The last CDs I bought were "The Ring" (by Richard Wagner) and "The Red Army Choir" featuring pretty much all the national favourites from the Soviet Union (not to mention it came in a big velvet red box with a golden soviet emblem)
Both are, of coarse, classics and quite good (needless to say not for people who can't stand bombastic music)

I'd noticed it was in someone's sig - hadn't realised it was yours though!

I'd also like to reccomend the new Morcheeba album The Antidote - they got a new vocalist and she's even better than the old one, and the tunes are nice and catchy too!

Rage against the machine's self titled album. Every track is pure class, one of the few albums i don't skip a track on. Another one is radiohead - ok,computer very good album apart from the 7th track which drives me spare.

My collection is around 120 CD's. The flawless ones in my opinion are:
  • Type o Negative - Bloody Kisses
  • Type o Negative - October Rust
  • Tiamat - Clouds
  • Tiamat - Wildhoney
Of course there are lots of other really good CD's but these four are perfect in my opinion.  :)
