Abandonia & Abandonia Reloaded: great job! I really like both sites, especially the old one (but I will start getting used to the new one to  :) )
But I have a question /idea: I don't always know wether a game is freeware or abandonware. So I have to search both sites. Ok. But since I'm a busy person and I still have an old phone-connection, wich costs me money for being online I like to search fast.
Is it an idea to create some sort of index from both Abandonia and Abandonia Reloaded where one can find where a game resides?

I think its not a great idea to put a link to the downloadsection in that list, because the fun of abandonia is reading about the game before downloading it. It's just that you can find out if there is a game and where it is.

Greatings, keep up the good work!

Welcome here my little Dutch friend.

The idea is not bad.
But.. we'll see if that's possible to do.
The thing is, that we want to keep the sites seperated, even thou they are "rellated"
Will reffere Kosta to this topic thou.

Thanks for the welcome, Titan. Didn't know my English is so bad ;-)

About my sort-of-'Totally Abandonia' idea and the separation of the two sites: I like the separation-idea. Reloaded has the possibility even to grow to some kind of platform for freeware-game-developers while 'the old site' is a great archive and platform for abandoned games.
I was thinking more about some fast index to Abandonia, Reloaded and maybe some more great game sites working with the 'abondonia'-concept.

Success with al the work on Abandonia & Reloaded!

Thanks for all the kind comments! Much appreciated ;)
However, linking abandonia and AR databases would be quite difficult to say the least. AR database is much more advanced to enable all the producer and company linking features. That's why it would be very hard to implement a unique search that would work for both sites ;)

Its an interesting idea though, thanks! Hope you'll decide to stay and help us out :)

Maybe you can create a third search site that will search files on Abandonia and Abandonia Reloaded (and other sites you open) :)

Yeah, and maybe they could come directly to my house and serve me my daily coffee each morning.

I think it would be an unnecessary load of work for the admins of this site. Besides, just posting an updated list somewhere would be fine. Heck, I could even do it myself (which doesn't mean I will).

Aureliano, I think posting an updated list somewhere is a lot of work, because you do need to make these posts regularly. So I hope you won't  ;)

I don't know what kind of databases Abandonia & Reloaded are using, but I guess some MySQL-server with php-scripts for getting the data. If that's right, I think it doesn't matter how advanced the database is, because you can just forget all the advanced data. The only thing you need to know is the name of the game and the site its in. So you need a user wich has access to both databases and two select-statements: something like:
;)
(connect to the Abandonia base)
"@abandoniatitles=SELECT fulltitle FROM games WHERE fulltitle LIKE 'A%' GROUP BY fulltitle ASC"
Print something like 'These games from abandonia starting with an A:' @abandoniatitles
(connect to the Reloaded base)
"@reloadedtitles=SELECT fulltitle FROM games WHERE fulltitle LIKE 'A%' GROUP BY fulltitle ASC"
Print something like 'These games from reloaded starting with an A:' @reloadtitles

That would be the easy-est way. Something a little bit more advanced could be a script wich selects the same, inserts it into some 3th database and fills an extra field with 'Abandonia' or 'Reloaded'. In that case you would have the opportunity to fill that base with more info from other sites like Abandonia (if there are :P )

Maybe I'm just thinking its to easy  :) , but I'm used to grabbing info from databases and putting it down on websites for my job.

So, now I'm just going to sit back and watch wich games have been placed since my last visit  ;)

Yeah, that would be the general idea, but I have no idea where I would place this list :)
