I don't know if there is already a similar thread done, but even if there is, it would be dead and buried and I don't feel like being an evil necromancer, so yeah, this thread.

The idea is what the title says, but it would be nice if we said why we feel like listening to that song or whatever that song means to us or whatever. Just to share some (good?) feelings around and sharing our passions/memories/etc.

And I will start with what I am listening right now: "The man who sold the world", by David Bowie. While I don't have any specific memory attached to it and every feeling I could have it's been somewhat diluted for the fact that Bowie is one of those that I kept listening to almost uninterruptedly since forever (so his music has been always there :P), it tends to make me remember of late night reunions with friends, music quietly in the background while we were laying on sofas and on the floor and wherever we felt comfortable, talking of various topics, from the banal to the intellectual, while languidly taking a drag from a cigarette or a sip of coffee.

Ok, who's next?

I love listening to Nick Cave.  There's no special memories attached to him - I just think he's an amazing singer.  Such an amazing voice - so powerful and raw, but at the same time, tender and soulful.

Yes, Nick Cave is awesome, although I tend to listen to him in small doses, for some reason. I still remember when he came with the Bad Seeds here (is it already 15-16 years ago? WTF?); I couldn't go to the show (heck, teenager with little disposable income at the time, most of it turned into tobacco :P), but that same night they went to the nightclub I used to go back then (and where I didn't need to pay to get inside because I was dating someone related to one of the owners :P). So I was there, Nick Cave was sitting there on some comfy couches and at some point they give him a can of spray paint and he autographs one of the walls :P

I feel like listening to some sweet Morphine albums right now. They are awesome on so many levels, and soo relaxing and at the same time stimulating on a deeper level. It's not music that makes me dance and it's not music that takes my mood and warp it around their own mood. If anything, then tend to favor and introspective mood with a hint of satisfaction, but most of the time they just complements or even boost my current mood. And all those deep bass sounds feel like they resonate with my (non-existent) soul on some weird level... they are just that great.
