Great games, available on HotU but it would be really cool to have them up on this site due to the insanity of them. What do you all think?

I'm all for it!

Not to forget is Warning Forever, one of the best SHMUP's ever made.

And for those who like quirky games, check out "Every Extend", a very strange take on the "blow everything up" formula :-)

Damn, too bad that nipponshootemups.com is dead, they had TONS of awesome freeware (and shareware) shooters.

Edit: While on the topic of ABA Games (rRootage, Torus Trooper) I must say that I like Parsec47 best. It combines the trippy optics the shooters are famous for with a good "level" structure. I'm pretty old-school there, like my "tons of small fish, THEN the boss" a little better than the "boss rush" mode of WF or rRootage :-)

If these games are going go up on the site, I would very much like to review a few of them, specially Rrootage which I am thoroughly addicted to, despite this being my study leave for my GCSEs, ah well eh?

Usually I'm too lazy to review stuff, although i have done a few reviews for gamefaqs.com...

What "game mode" do you use most often when playing rRootage? My all-time favorite is the Ika mode, copying the (rightly) famous shooter Ikaruga...

I'm currently just playing through normal mode on Rrootage but psy is pretty cool too, I love extreme on Torus trooper, 9000kph and you just zone out

Yup, TT r0x0rz...

BTW, if you can stand this kind of game and you have a Sony Playstation (PSOne), try to get your hands on N2O by Gremlin. Its a little more involved, but it shares many design ideas with Torus Trooper (like the concept of a "tunnel shooter" and a nice scoring system). Maybe you can get it cheap off eBay - just make sure you get the version WITH CD Audio - the soundtrack by The Crystal Method adds TONS to the game.

Oh yeah, although I mentioned it somewhere on this board already:
GET MONO! It's a nice coffee-break freeware shooter by Binary Zoo (www.binaryzoo.com). It's about colors (getting your screen from white to black or vice versa) and gets pretty psycho-trippin, with the right music (you can add custom MP3 playlists). I have The Prodigy's album "Music for the Jilted Generation" in there, and it's the right stuff, oh yeah :-)

If you could provide a link to the official webpage I could take a look at them and maybe add them to the Master List.

You mean N2O?
It was coded for the Sony PSOne (afaik there's no PC port, sadly), and Gremlin Interactive folded eons ago, so it has no site whatsoever.

And Mono's Official site is
www.binaryzoo.com, the developer's homepage.

Warning Forever's Developer is at
http://www18.big.or.jp/~hikoza/Prod/ (or so I hope, but my japanese truly sucks :-))
