Sounds great.
And you should definitely see it in 48 FPS. See the difference.
And wow, you are right. It's pretty much being released on the same date next year. At least the third one comes out about 6 months later, after the second. That's what they kinda did with Harry Potter. HP7 part 1 came out in November, part 2 in July.
Glad you enjoyed the film. For someone who loved the original trilogy, this must have been a long wait, to finally see it.

My favorite part was at the end, when Bilbo has that fantastic quote, about helping Thorin if he can. My second favorite part is when Bilbo is talking with Gollum in the cave, and Gollum says "Shut up!" and Bilbo replies "I didn't say anything."

Looks like we will be getting a sneak peek at the next film in Unexpected Journey's Blu-ray release, and probably online, this March.
