Lucasarts are indeed to blame. Remember Grim Fandango?
You had to capture a dead bird's egg - Which obviously had bird flu!
It's practically Bible code for crying out loud!

So lucasarts and sierra were never competing, they were working together on this, unbelieveable and I believe the proper term is (thanks to Iron Maiden) is "Run to the hills!" "Run for your life!"

I still think it can all be traced back to Loom, though. There were hardly that many games involving birds before that, were there?
Mixed up Mother Goose! They deliberately targeted small children. Now that's really nasty...

All I can say is that if anyone I know "hilariously" tells me not to hang around with girls and I won't get it, I will egg their houses. With bricks rather than eggs, obviously.

I think the idea there was that you could catch it from birds, "birds" being mildly derogatory slang for young women.

Oh. Ha ha.
The number of birdwatchers nationwide has been plumaging... erm, plummeting ever since the arrival of bird flu. Most birdwatchers are now doing courses to become trained trainspotters. The president of the British Birdwatching Club (BBC) states that the situation is getting "increasingly worrying" from the BBC's point of view...

Whoops, that was a top-class typo I made there.
Anyway, I'm off school with a cold, which may/may not be bird flu related.
Remember kids (and adults too) - if you feel rubbish, go to your GP.
