Here are a few games I didn't see.

LYLE IN CUBE SECTOR- This is a metroid-ish game that uses NES style graphics and sound. The gameplay involves throwing blocks as a means of self-defense.

Total Eclipse Remake- The people who put together the Cholo remake have just remade another 3D adventure game. Your goal is to destroy the shrine at the top of a maze-like pyramid within two hours. You also have to worry about dehyration and being scared to death (It's easier to understand if you play).

Total Eclipse Site

rE/Generation- This is the unofficial sequel to D/Generation and it maintains all of the original gameplay with improved graphics and new levels. The game is an action/puzzle/adventure hybrid (see the below link for a better understanding of D/Generation).

Minigolf Maniacs- This was the last project Dynamix was working on before they disbanded. Now it became open source and a very stable version is available to download. Consider it the spiritual successor to 3D-Ultra Mini Golf.

Note: You need to download both the game file and the mod file. Both are accessable at the website free of charge at the permission of the game's creator.

Gridwars- Somebody made a version of the XBOX game geometry wars for the PC. It's very close to the original and has dual analog joystick support.

Here are some sites that deserve recognition.

Ovine by Design- These guys made the Cholo and Total Eclipse Remakes. They have quite a laundry list of good remakes.

Retro Remakes- This is an archive of links to game remaking projects.

Acid-Play- This site hosts a large selection of freeware game titles.

Interactive Fiction Archive- This is really a personal intrest thing, but I like text adventure games. You can get hours worth of gameplay from a 30 second download. This site has almost every freeware IF game for download (and any commercial IF games that were made freeware).
