Are there any versions of DOSBox compatible with Ubuntu Linux? I have no clue about the difference so I was kind of iffy picking out anything from the download list without knowing what it was.
I just want to be certain.

use the package manager of ubuntu
dosbox is in there
(applications add/remove)
if you can't find it => click on preferences and make sure that universe is selected (second or third option)

Have fun.

I don't have an internet connection on the PC in question, so I can't connect for updates, nor do I have DOSBox in the Synaptic Packages utility.

I'm wondering if there's any way I can get it on the PC without too much hassle.

well manually downloading the .deb file and spending a while on the dependences.
It's doable. I installed debian linux this way once on a pc with only a floppy drive.

If you are interested give a shout and I will post some more on how to install .deb files and finding the dependencies for them without internet.
You might want to start by posting the output of the command
dpkg -l
as that will show which packages you allready have installed.

Ok, I'll try doing that when I get home, although I'm really iffy with Linux since this is the first time I've actually installed it on anything.
