I bought Ace Combat 4 Soundtrack few years ago and it is one of my favs. I'd like to buy Final Fantasy soundtrack but I don't know which one should I buy. Any suggestions?

I also have a bunch of MGS mp3 files. Snake Eater is great.

I remember in days of Super NES, music from SECRET OF MANA.... I would just leave the joypad at certain places and let it play music all day.

Ah.... memories.....SNES....Baby.....

My favourite would be Monkey Island II, I think. One of the few games in which I actually noticed the music.

Hmm GTA and 2 had some memorable tracks that are hiariously funny, FF 6 loved every track on that one.

Total Annihilation in my opinion has the best soundtrack ever. The bad thing was that none of the music actually fit with the game itself.

I agree with Pigggy, TA had some good music...
I must also agree with the fact it was almost totally unrelated to the game...

Freelancer has some great music, Grim Fandango has a fantastic soundtrack.

Some of Darwinia's stuff is good, too. Homeworld is going to be mentioned by someone, as it's rather good. Evil Genius is quite good, too.

Definitely Grim Fandango had some great tracks, really linked well with the whole spanish vibe of the game, may be a bit of a questionable choice but I liked Unreal Tournament's music, they fit the stages in which they were chosen for, especially Morpehus's level, love that track.

Final Fantasy VIII and X are my favorite game soundtracks. Instantly memorable classic songs and some fantastic orchestration.

I heard that somebody made an official "Best game soundtrack" competition and that the best music was from "Commando". And I mean C64 Commando. Not much of music, since C64 had memory which couldn't display this site, but I still remember how that music could make you wild.

Lots of Quick Shot IIs were broken just because of that music.

I really liked the opening music of FF8, the one which plays during opening credits- not the one with the vocals, the other one.

8's was indeed very good, liked the tracks they used on that one. Also fan of Deus Ex's music, I think should also get props.

Mm, suppose it is good. Nyeh, I really dont notice the music unless I hate it and turn it off. Homeworld 2's sort of annoys me at points, though. The main menu.. eugh..

Total Anihillation, Morrowind,  and Dawn of War  would have to be my favorites. I didn't know this until lately, but they were  all done by the same composer, Jeremy Soule. He's done a lot more music too and has been hailed as "the John Williams of video games"
