Hello :)

After being an unregistered lurker for a little while, I thought I'd drop in to shamelessly plug my own games :P  Abandonia Reloaded (or rather, Reloaded Abandonia as it is now - I should probably get around to changing our link text :D) is probably the best-quality freeware site currently about, and it would be really great to see some of the games I've worked on reviewed here :P

My software group (RjB Software) is currently behind two released titles: Afterlife, a platformer which has received some great reviews since its release, and XG Arena, a big side-scrolling arcade shooter with lots of powerups, which I'm very pleased with, but which has so far gone a little more unnoticed (probably because it's not really designed to appeal to traditional fans of its genre) - personally, I think it's pretty addictive...  But then, I may be biased :apple:

Afterlife:

XG Arena:

We also have two upcoming titles: a sequel to Afterlife; and a huge RPG drawing inspiration from both Fallout and Pokémon (!).  There's more news and information (and development screenshots :band:) about those available in the news area at our forums, if you're interested :P

Anyway, again, well done to everyone who writes reviews and works on the content here - it's great to see such good quality in a freeware reviews site - cheers! :P

- Ryan

No reason to shame anything, imo. It's important that people inform us, no matter are they players, producers or competitors! I'll update the games list soon (hopefully I don't forget) and let's hope someone's willing to review your games. However, it will take some time to get the games up, but I guess you may already be aware of it.

Anyways: WOOOORMS :) (=welcome to the forums, mate!) :P
...70 years... LOL

Anyone who references both Petrucci and Iommi in one signature is evidently a man of taste - have fun with the games! :P

Already quite excited about the chance of seeing both DT and Sabbath H&H this year! :)

Afterlife is hard. :/
But so addicting. *goes to play it again*

DAMN YOU RJB! I have a project due tomorrow. <.< I wonder how I'm going to get any work done...

Edit: Nevermind, just had to think about the solution and not just barge in to the spikes.

Fallout AND Pokemon?!? I'm sold! :P :P

Seriously, though, a fallout setting combined with pokemon-style pets makes me excited. I'll definitely have to check it out when it comes out, but I guess I'll have to settle for your current games in the meantime. :P

Welcome to the forums by, the way! :)

I should probably note that the Fallout influence isn't related to the setting, but more to the open-endedness of the game: because the primary focus of the gameplay is in the sport, there's no reason for any of the other gameworld interactions or side-quests to be especially linear, allowing for a lot of freedom in how the player conducts themself; actions have consequences, and pretty much everything is essentially optional, which gives a lot of playability beyond the basic premise...  More news on that at a later date, though :P

Glad to hear people are enjoying Afterlife and XG Arena, anyway :)

Finished off a review and screens for XG Arena, but was trying to play Afterlife and got an error, 429 I believe, Active X could not create object, any ideas what I can do?

That's highly peculiar...  It suggests a problem with DirectX on your system, but as you can run XG Arena, there's no reason Afterlife should have any difficulty.  I'll have a look into it and PM you some ideas.

EDIT: Problem now resolved :)
