Just a stupid question: why does the site only mention you can run the game in DOSBox? I thought Flight of the Amazon Queen was one of the first games to be fully adapted for ScummVM?:)

That is because we haven't placed ScummVM there ;)

Will jump on it right now.

Very cool game, loved every minute of playing it, the story was really good, and the talkie version that I played really enhanced the game, one of the more longer adventure games that I've played and that's the way I like em. :)

Yeah, really cool game...but I can't save my progress :) ...I tried F1 and to use the journal, but if I try to "Read Entry" there is no Entry.  Please help!! I don't think I have enough time to play this game through on just one day...   ;)

The obvious questions would be:

1. Where did you download it from?
2. What system are you running it on?

Just to be sure... shouldn't you be trying to "make an entry" to save the game, not read one?

And you have to make an entry before any will appear when you try to read one.

I use DOSBox to run it, but the F1 journal interface is graphical, so not sure how the SCUMMVM version would be different.

Of course I tried to "make an entry". I write a name for it, press "yes", the screen fades back into the game. If I open the journal there is nothing written. Man,  this sucks...it sounds like a really stupid problem...*narf* :)

Hmm, the ScummVM website mentions a sort of patch (queen.tbl) required to run copies of the game downloaded from other places. Have you tried that yet?

Or you can try DOSBox, as that worked for taikara and me :)
