DOSBox is open source.
This basicly means that you can take a look on the inside if you want to.
This inside is what programmers call "the source". "Source" can be compiled(=converted) into a working program by using some programs.(usually a compiler)

DOSBox its source is stored in a central archiveand can be read by everyone.
Each time one of the developers changes/adds/fixes something this central archive is updated.

This gives people the possiblity to use/try a version of DOSBox that is newer, BUT unofficial.
This version is called a CVS build.
Please note that this version changes a lot! (as it's based on the latest code)

Why should I get a CVS build?
If you're having trouble running a game with DOSBox 0.63, it's worth trying a CVS build to see if the problem has been fixed since that version was released. There may also be new features that you might like to try, or fixes for bugs that are keeping you from doing something.

If you are interrested in trying it:
CVS build of DOSBox by AEP-emulation

If you are interrested in what has been changed since 0.63:
An automaticly generated logfile.(This logs shows the messages the developers add to their changes in the central archive. It should be somewhat understandable.)
