First of all welcome to   :)  Reloaded.
Heh, tanks :band:  (although I've been kind of lurking here for two years - in fact, I haven't checked the site out for a long time after registering, having a little PM chat with Frodo, and posting nothing :) )

Yes the Portaganist is a girl, and she knows how to properly  :)  kick some mutant butt.

I find it a pity that all the "Girl Gaming" site have totally overlooked this game, considering the complaints about the lack to Female (and properly    dressed) leads in FPS games.

Someone makes a game within those criteria and manages to keep the gameplay fun, and they totally ignore :dance3: it.
I think there hasn't been a 2.5D FPS game that has a female face on the status bar yet :D For some reason the story completely eluded me when I visited the official site of the game. Maybe I wasn't really expecting a real plot, which is justified by the tradition of the genre ;)

To Frodo:
The review for the should have probably been in the Please Help Us With Site Content section, but I was unsure  :)  where exactly to post it there.
So I put it here instead, hope thats :band: okay, and that my reviewing skills are good enough to have the game put up on the main site.
Thought that there were not enough screenshots, attached 6 more to this post.

As for the game, its shockingly underrepresented outside the DOOM WAD community.
I would have newer know it existed had I not found it on forum.

Nice review! I have Harmony on my list, but haven't got around to trying it out yet. I didn't know it's a game with a female protagonist, too :)

Harmony took 8 years to make, and that attention immediately shines through, the game is a beautiful replica of the early 90's First Person Shooter. The game an FPS, but not in the “Modern” style. Its an FPS of the day when all FPS's where called DOOM Clones, after the Id Software Title. Harmony is a Doom clone in every sense, its built on the DOOM engine, featuring DOOM style movement and controls. If your a fan of DOOM, there is plenty to like in this game. However the game is a total conversion, completely new story, monsters, guns, and levels, none recycled from the original DOOM.

The story is this: Mankind has fought WW3, and the game is set in a post-apocalyptic society where all Men have become Mutants (because of the use of a genetic bioweapon), and are attacking the female survivors. The Women have formed a paramilitary (naturally called the Amazons) for their defense. During a Mutant raid on the Amazon HQ their leader Amira is captured. You the protagonist are her best friend Harmony. Your mission: save your leader and friend from the mutant army, also known as the Order of PAX POX.

The game play is excellent. The games maker is well known in the DOOM Modding community, and the reason is evident in his interesting level design. The variety of weapons and enemies, lends it fast paced exiting atmosphere. The Soundtrack is good, but too short (a new semi-official soundtrack had just been made: http://www.doomworld...h-more-harmony/ (wrap in as link when posting the review)).

The negatives:
While long for a freeware game, the gameplay is so fun that 11 levels seem like to little. Also, as it was made by a dedicated DOOM player, it can be rather hard on Newbies.

However, I highly recommend you try it. If your "Modern" FPS friends try mocking the Retro Graphics, let them try a level or two. They'll be hooked right away.

Harmony is 3D FPS, which is inspired from Doom. Used Zdoom engine and is freeware and made by Thomas van der Velden.
