Looks neat. There's no AI in the current version, but MP looks to be working if unfinished.

It looks like some people are working on an open source remake. :)

I don't know if it's any good, and it looks as though it's still in process, so I'm not really certain how complete it is, but at least it's something.

Essentially, i think the biggest problem with MOO3 was it's promise.

I mean, if you didn't let the computer do everything for you, your economy would crash.  If you did go along with what the computer was deciding and you made it big in the galaxy....your economy would crash.  You had diplomacy that did nothing.  You had customizable space ships that battled in a faux 3D environment that...moved really slowly, in tight uncompromising formations and with weird glitchy cloaking things that simply turned on and off for no reason explained by the game mechanics...  The game isn't unplayable...you just don't want to play it.

It's one of those games that you wish someone would take, reprogram and make better...but no one does.

Anyone tried Galactic Civilizations 2? When i got it, I expected to be another tired MOO clone, but it got me hooked instantly. The only game that could ever compare in terms of raw addictiveness would have to be Civ 4

Wonder what would Wilde say about computer games?

Prejudice sucks
"These are not that good, really"

I can resist anything, but temptation and super mario.

Master of Orion 3- I will be honest, I couldn't get it. Not that I tried too much, but it is not even half as great as MOO2.
You're being too kind for the game. You probably did get it, MOO3 just sucked big time. I've never regretted paying for a game as much as with MOO3.

MOO2 is a great game. No, MOO1 is a great game, MOO2 is even better. MOO3 was fun for the 15 minutes you were able to lie to yourself that it must be a good game as it is Master of Orion after all.

Preach it!  Every time the words "Master" and "Orion" are even uttered near each other, a little bit of my central nervous system just shuts down from the flash back of being hunched over my 8000lb 14" screen, squinting at little pixelated foes.

The original MOO was so good.  A little bit of me died in disappointment with each successive release though.

Doesn't Stardock have a similar conquer the whole universe while building massive fleets and supporting perfect societies kind of game?  I'm afraid to even check for fear of awakening from a fugue state days from now in the dark still clicking at an unresponsive mouse b/c my power has been turned off.

Hint: get rid of that black & white monitor! :D
As Wilde would put it, you have a large wardrobe of Humour's cast-off clothes.
