Yeah keep in mind though when the game was originally first released, plus the whole exploration idea and such just added to the charm imo.

Finally got around to playing this a bit. Nice, but I'm the type of people who like to have a clear idea on what to do, atleast in the beginning. So this was kind of difficult for me to get into. After beating a couple of dungeons this was easy peasy.

Indeed Zelda 1 did pave the way for many other games of that era, and it really still holds up to this day, if ya really think about it though, with perhaps the exception of Zelda 2, every Zelda game has managed to be classic games, Link to the past on the snes, links awakening on the original gb, Ocarina on the N64 and now with Twilight Princess on the Wii, the game keeps holding it's flame high. :D

I have to agree, I think that the very first Zelda (the one that this is a remake of) is one of the best Zelda games ever made. Considering its age, and how big it is, and all the different weapons you can have, and how your life increases after some time - it really is an amazing game, and one of the first true RPGs ever created.

You've missed all of the GOOD Zelda games...

Zelda 1, LttP, Minish Cap...

Indeed a nice faithful representation of the original game, which will always be a classic.  :)

I love this game. Anyone tried the megaman quest?

Never played the original Zelda, or any others for that matter. Not really my style although this has me hooked. I like the different graphic styles although there was one that changed everything and I couldn't get the sword, just a boomerang.

Nice review Tom. This is one of the few games on AR that I'm extremely happy to see. This makes my day. :)
