Most interesting thing I've yet found in Barnabas' shop :ok:

I think I'll be coming back later on in the game, once I'm in shape to take him on.

(for those not in the know, that's Skullcrusher, a thourghly badass arifact mace that slay humanoids)

I've seen some artifacts there, but can't name any right now. I don't even remember any by name anymore! :ok:

Bleh.

After ages of ADOM-abstinence, I finally started another character yesterday (randomly generated drakeling fighter), but this afternoon the game spontaneously crashed when I gave the amulet to Khelevaster. And the savegame was gone, as well, of course. Strangely enough, it wasn't the 'enter' key-bug - that one I know about and have successfully avoided ever since it once happened to me, and I've never had any problems in this part of the game.
I suppose I should take this as a sign that I should be working on my dissertation instead of mucking about with computer games. :max:

I've been playing a lot of Incursion lately; if anyone's missed it, it's an RL based on the D20 (Dungeons and Dragons, but you're not allowed to mention the trademarked bits!) system, and it crams an amazing amount of depth into what is basically a tiny fraction of the intended eventual product - great.
It's great to see work on JADE is progressing too, and the blog updates are interesting - the ambition is really inspiring, and it's dead interesting (to me at least) to see how he's tackling the coding of various things; it should be very extendable and much more stable than ADoM was.

i opened a thread about it the week it was released.

to tell u the truth im more excited about the REAL incursion (with the full world and crap) then jade right now :max:

I'm a big Incursion fan too. It's shaping up to be truly great once it gets rounded off into anything like the finished product.

What with the JADE development progression and the new version of Dwarf Fortress being as great as it is, Roguelikes are in an extremely healthy position.

AJ, what's the enter key bug? I've never knowingly come across it before but it could be the cause of a couple of seemingly random crashes I've had.

i cant remember exactly but it got me the first time too. i think its something really dumb like when khelevaster talks to u shortly before he dies and u clear the text with enter the game crashes. every time or something.

i could be kinda off but its something stupid like that :whistle:

I decided to play a little with this game again. The only problem is... it's been so long, that I've forgotten what I was doing and where I was heading. Any Ideas?

Hmm, were you about to finish the game by any chance?

Clear out the elemental temples, get the orbs and get on with it. Better make sure you have a wand of destruction and a way of teleporting at will before you head down to the lowest level of the caverns of chaos, though, or your beastfighter will run into some trouble.

Well, I don't think so. For some reason I had removed all armor and so on, and only kept Artifacts on me. To me, that indicates that I was about to do something dangerous to equipment, but I've already done the water level, and I'm pretty sure I finished ToEF. Are there other places you can think of that are dangerous like that?

I guess I could've also just finished one of the above places...
(I was standing in the beautiful clearing)
