I thought H&D freeware version has the game fully patched.
I played through the whole game up to where the missions of the expansions were and didn't find any of the "fell-into-floor-into-nameless-void" or those swimming issues.
The only major bodies of water I remembered seeing was the 1st mission where there was a river and in another mission where you went on a cruiser to I think get some hidden documents and plant explosive charges,
tho been a while since I last played it, which was when they first announced H&D became free/adware.
Actually since as Magic said there's only an ad when you exit I wonder if it should still be classified as adware....hmmm....

I own H&D2 and the MP community is really dull, is this the case for HD1?

Well it can't hurt to check it out ... however I don't know if h&D will even be put on the site in the first place.

Hmm maybe you could make an interview with them ,they're a small company, maybe they're more accessible...

Yes it was made freeware shortly before the release of H&D 2

Indeed, or at the last turn of the last mission of a campaign, your favourite soldier is trapped in the limbo know only as 'THE FLOOR', in which they fall 50 feet into to survive, but never move.

Especially annoying on the missions where you couldn't escape without all of your men.

Also, the SAS need to learn how to swim. This is a BIG problem in the game.

Is it really freeware?

I bought this game, its alright but a riddled with nasty bugs, and often you can't continue a mission because somewhere someone you need to kill is hiding (or, due to the nature of the game, hidden inside a wall due to terrible clipping)

Ah. I didnt realize... although now people are aware of the spyware and have got a mini review :)
Very good point there Magic.  It would be really crappy if someone wasted a 150odd meg download only to delete because of ad-ware that is hardly malicious.

Note: The adware in this game is an advert for Hidden And Dangerous 2, which only displays when you have chosen to exit the game from the main menu. No spyware such as Cydoor is installed

Download it @ www.gamehippo.com
Just pointing out that the download link I provided was the one provided at Gamehippo.com.
