TOME 4 is a completely different game set in a different (not same) universe.

The informational site says that tomev1-3 takes on the Tolkien setting while tomev4 is its own original high fantasy setting and story.
You can say that the author decided to split from the Tolkien series and work on a different story.

The download link has been fixed. Sorry for any inconvenience.
To be clear... is TOME 4 the same game we have on site but with minor improvements added (like bug patches etc), or is it a completely different game set in the same universe (like Monkey Island 1, Monkey Island 2 etc)?

No way, tomev4 is a way different game in a different age. I read that it's age 4 of the tome series and tomev2/3 is not of the fourth age.
Can somebody at least host a mirror of tome 2/3? I don't want to lose this game to obsurity and I don't care about tome 4 that much. I have a copy in my external hard drive, but now it's getting broken. I think it's going to lose out memory too since it's a non-solid state hard drive.
EDIT (10/23/2011):
Whelp, today is the day we can rejoice b/c I just save this game from obsurity. People, don't let the author DarkGod or any of his supporters know about this because the last thing I want is to have the game files mysteriously disappear from the internet. I wouldn't trust that they won't do something about it. tomev2/3 is like a internet legend that everyone ought to once try in their gaming lifestyle.
Ok, here come the links. I suggest to use either v2.3.4 or v2.3.5 as those versions are the stable versions (which includes the many features). Windows, Mac, and Linux OS supported.

Just in case something does go amiss, I will host the v2.3.5 on one of my filehosting accounts.
Once again, we can rejoice in tomev2/3!

There are some graphical works from either the Zangband/Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup game at http://pousse.rapier.../tome/index.htm . It's the same game but with more graphic options.
The only loss is the loss of the tome modules; I was not able to scope online for them. I remember there were titles like "Bone to be Wild" and one module about a zombie town (the boss took too many grinding to finish that game). Maybe in time, there will be people willing to recreate a server for tome modules. As for me, I am looking forward for further development on tomev2/3.

You really should either update or create a new section for the new v4 TOME. It has a custom engine, much improved graphics, and is based after the trilogy in the fourth age.
He might be right, v4 is a whole new game, and is being developed independently from the first ToME.

Um, i can't get on the actual Tome forums ( http://forum.t-o-m-e.net/ ) cause they seem to be down, so i mineaswell ask here, though i doubt anyone will reply! Frodo made me! :E
(Frodo being the Abandonia and Reloaded user, not the one from the books)
Anyway,s how do you make and use Mods? Do you jsut use a simple text editor like notepad?
Cause i have a wonderful idea!
a Mod set in; that's right! Make a mod thats set in the world of interplays "Wasteland" !
Basically, i want to have the same map, but different story, maybe make new map area's i suppose, but important things such as high pool, Quartz, the desert ranger hq and so on would still be there, but thats still a long ways a way! i need to get on the official forums so i can get help...
