The black theme is awesome!  I like it a lot (though I tend to like darker colors).

Congrats!

Play the game HERE

The Pixel Pirate is a 2D rts type of game set in space featuring retro graphics and sounds.

I finally have a demo ready for my next game.  Please give it a try and let me know what you think!

The official version of the game will feature:
Amazing retro look and feel.
Over 20 exciting levels!
An online score board.
Randomly generated levels.
Special upgrades - unlock ships and new abilities as the game progresses!

(Note: for testing purposes, there are only 2 (out of 4) chapters and 5 ships (out of 6) that are playable.  Send me a PM if you want to do a more thorough play test of the full version.)

#83391 [Flash] Society - An Artsy, Retro, Strategy, Game

Posted by jrjellybeans on 08 January 2011 - 08:03 PM in Work in Progress

After a really long time, the official version of Society was released!

You can play it on Newgrounds and on the home site!

If you haven't played the latest version, I made a couple of pretty big changes:
- the game runs smoother
- the game is quicker: you move quicker and you have less time per round.

The changes affect the game in a pretty big way actually...

Anyways, thanks for the testing!

Play the game HERE.

[Also, I wanted to point out that the game was featured on the indiegames.com Blog recently!]

[Urm... also is there way to make an official announcement on this site?]

#83172 Introduce Yourself

Posted by jrjellybeans on 13 December 2010 - 05:18 PM in Forum Guidelines

I'm Rob.  I create indie entertainment.

I've been working with video games for some time and have recently (since about 2 years ago) been trying to go full time indie.  It's been a crazy, hectic ride.  But a lot of fun.

I kind of wish that I had known about these forums before as my games seem to fit the style pretty well :ok:

Hey Jellybeans.  Welcome to Reloaded.   :rain:

Thanks for telling us about your game.  I had a wee go of it.  Interesting graphics.  And I like how the tutorial explains how everything works.   :ok:    When moving your character though, there's quite a pause bewteen you clicking the mouse, and the character actually moving.  Fun game though.   :)

Thanks for the welcome.  I would have made a proper introduction but I didn't really see anywhere to make it :)

I tried fixing the pause.  It might still do it a bit, but such is life...  The game is pretty resource heavy so there's not much I can do about it at this point :D

Thanks for the feedback!

#83156 [Flash] Society - An Artsy, Retro, Strategy, Game

I was wondering if people here would mind giving my new Flash game a try.

It's a retro strategy game with the theme of civilization and culture.  I made it in a rapid game design cycle!

Play the game here - Society
A society that doesn't grow is dead.

A society that doesn't progress isn't moving forward is moving backwards.

A good society will never be stopped.

It's a game about the way that I think that societies function.

Any opinions or comments would be appreciated!
